Introduction
Maitreyee Social Welfare Foundation has been dedicated to social development since its inception on September 15, 2018, under the Indian Trust Act of 1882. The organization has made significant impacts across many districts in West Bengal, leveraging support from state government funding, private donors, and its own resources. Maitreyee is recognized and affiliated with key government ministries and holds important tax-exempt certifications.
Our Beginning
The genesis of MSWF is the inspiring vision of late Smt Shanti Baidya(Founder member of MSWF) to uplift the quality of life of the most marginalised communities in remote rural locations of South 24 pgs district.In 2018, she envisioned an expert professional organisation in remote part of Sunderban delta which can facilitate rural communities in improving their quality of lives-hence began the journey of MSWF.
